Your kids will have a blast this summer taking a pottery class at KC Clay Guild! We have 4 class sessions available to fit just about any schedule. Your child will learn the basics of hand building (techniques like pinch, coil, and slab) or wheel throwing (using the potter's wheel). Each student will have several finished glazed pieces to bring home at the end of every session.
We have made some changes to our Youth Summer Classes for 2024:
We will now offer 3 wheel throwing and 3 handbuilding each week to better meet demand.
Classes are now 1.5 hours, a slightly shorter class is typically better for younger students.
Students may take only one handbuilding class and one wheel throwing class per Summer.
We can no longer allow students to stay in the building between classes - a student could take both wheel throwing and handbuilding in the same week, but the student will need to be picked up between classes.
Questions? Please contact our Education Coordinator, Amy (edco@kcclayguild.org).
